MANDARINI, M. CORPORATE SECURITY STRATEGIC: Beddings. Barueri: Manole, 2005.

The author, Marcos Mandarini, is born from good source, therefore he comes of long and useful militancy in Military Intelligence, having also walked through the intellectualized field when he got degree in Law in the State University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His book, Beddings of the Corporative Security, launched through the Manole Publishing company (2005), guides the reader on a current and preoccupying subject extremely, at least for the clarified sectors more of the Brazilian society: how to think, to plan and to undertake security in the strategic dimension, at a moment where the population already does not support more the government's ineffectual .
Mandarini appropriately faces the security guard questions as a war of diverse nature, therefore that, although everything and of all the deluded ones for the irresponsible media, bought for establishment governmental, still thus implies in undertaking it with smoothness and ethics; however, with determination. With ability, the author balances on the scarce wire supporting the pressure for the survival in a world each more chaotic, where the demagogy almost always is successful, grace of the valley-everything politician the one that we are submitted. |
Complementarily, and even for a question of proper conceptual understanding, Mandarini goes very beyond the pure and simple enterprise security, focusing in almost part of the book, important and inherent aspects for the implementation of the function Counter Intelligence in private and corporative segments.
Thus, the author shows clearly that is not looking only to complement the reader with cognitives easinesses, before uses the obviouslly to sensetize, to attract and soon to convince on subject that is not easy at least in the legal ways. Or either, the book is a libel of the proper strategy registered in the heading and shiningly developed in the content. To the reverse, he would be strange to see to approach it we of the collective unreliability helping to press them still more, displaying our vulnerabilities without offering a viable counterpart. What it makes is to unfasten, one by one, going deep when necessary and appealing common-sense when it is necessary to detach what it is more practical in protection terms.
It is a complete book, ready to be used and focused to the current scenario of the terrorism practised against the Brazilian population, had as still sufficiently immature because it does not know proper history.
Mandarini obtain, therefore, a good effect of balance: at the same time where the author discourses on what really disturb the people and companies in our day-by-day, and he also shows as to search the solutions according to a real perspective. He don't follow for the prophecy, or same for the "I think . . ." or even by any appreciated neologism, but for the safe job of that he himself discovered in long years of study and construction.
Finally, I would like to say that Marcos Mandarini confirm an old and unhappy suspicion of mine: “the centennial institution of the Brazilian Army still did not learn to preserve into the Army's corps their most shining sons, considering that many of them come back precociously to the civil life to conquer success in their new professional lifes”, unfortunately for the Army and fortunately for the private companies.
